Personally, I think Liz has been given some very poor marketing advice. If I
had any kind of business that supplied products to new moms, I would stay
completely out of the feeding issue. Its a heated topic - why even go there?

If there is any intent whatsoever to be trying to "bridge" the feeding
choice divide - I think these people are pretty naive to think that their
marketing people suddenly have the communication skills to be able to write
copy that would make both camps happy and comfortable.

IMO, Liz Lange has been contacted. It is too close to the launch date for
her to pull out (Aug 3 in NYC, Aug 4 in Long Island, Aug 9 in Beverly
Hills), I assume it will go ahead. However, we have shown that we are not
naive in knowing how to use the media, also.

At this point I have little interest in trying to convince her to change her
mind. She is running a business, she will have to take her lumps. I think
she is about to alienate a large part of her customer base - and not just
"lactivists", but a lot of average bfing moms who will also see the
hypocrisy of this campaign.
