> Dear Friends:

After reading this post, I was reminded of Linda Smith and Pam Wiggins
little book "Ridiculous reasons to wean" that is a compilation of medical
pronouncements that are hilarious and deadly, as mothers listened to them
(usually) and weaned. This post belongs there!

" I just had a pedi tell a new mom NOT to breastfeed because she has
multiple
allergies and they would be passed on thru breastfeeding. I told the mom
that I had NEVER heard that and actually the exact opposite is true. I
plan to ask this Doc for her references-as in Gee I haven't heard that is
there some new literature that I'm not aware of? I'll let you all know
what
she
 says."------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yesterday, at a local lactation consultant affiliate group meeting, Ruth
Wilf, speaking about web resources, brought up this blog <
www.myobsaidwhat.com> that is the obstetrical version of medical absurdity.

warmly,
