This is perhaps not the best choice for anxiety in the nursing mother.
It has a relatively long half life in adults (11 hours) and some of
its metabolites are also active with longish half lives.
Benzodiazepines of which this is one also tend to have even longer
half lives in infants under about 1 month of age.

Still there are lots of other choices which can be used in the nursing
mother, including lorazepam (Ativan) and many many others. It is
unlikely this is the only choice for a particular mother.
