To add to Catherine's list of possible *earlier* events that could
cause a drop in supply that mom is noticing *now*, ask the mom if
she's done any sleep training (working hard to get baby to sleep
longer stretches at night, usually involving crying).  Another way to
get at this question is to ask which parenting books she's read.  Red
flags: "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" "Secrets of the Baby
Whisperer" or anything by Ezzo.

Many moms start sleep training around 4mos, sometimes earlier.
