This is an interesting topic...one would think,
though, that allergies would become *more* common in
homogeneous populations, since there is a greater
likelihood of both parents contributing allergy-prone
tendencies/genes.  It isn't related to allergies per
se, but I thought about the Old-Order Amish, a
population that is experiencing elevated rates of
dwarfism and other genetic/chromosomal variants due to
years of intermarriage.
Anyone out there with a background in genetics care to
comment?
