Hello, again, Jean.
So glad to get the update, and to learn that baby seems to be doing
more swallowing and not clamping so hard. One comment that I want to make about
the CranioSacral therapy: once in a while, a baby shows significant
improvement after a single visit. But what I *frequently* see is that, after the
first such visit, baby nurses *beautifully* ONCE, and then goes back to what he
was doing before. That ONE great nursing session really gets mom all excited,
and then it really hits her hard when the baby doesn't *keep* doing well. This
has happened so often, that I now routinely warn moms that this is likely to
happen, and that they shouldn't let it get them discouraged because it happens
so often. I tell them that the improvement doesn't seem to "stick" until the
baby has been seen 2-3 times, and even then additional visits are often
needed to get the baby to be able to nurse perfectly. The moms can usually handle
this if they are warned ahead of time that it is likely to happen this way.
