I would be interested in the experiences any of you have had with lactating
mothers with hyperthyrodism. The mother may have had a pre-existing
hyperthyrodism (ie Grave's disease) prior to pregnancy, or she may have
developed the condition during pregnancy, or she may have developed it
postpartum. If you've worked with a mother with known hyperthyroidism, I
would be interested in whether it appeared to impact lactation or not-- more
milk or less milk or ???. I would especially focus on women who were out of
balance at some point during pregnancy/lactation as opposed to those who
were well-maintained as euthyroid throughout; the latter group would
hopefully be stable and not experience fluctuations. But I would love to
hear about any cases that lactnetters have dealt with.

Thanks,
Lisa Marasco
