I have a client who has been happily nursing for 3 months. She then had a
heavy menstrual flow and her supply diminished somewhat. Her supply is up
now, ....but her MER is not responsive to her baby's suckling. The milk is
there and baby comes on and suckles but the milk won't let down. She can
pump and get a flow starting, and baby goes to breast and has a fine feed.
Her MER used to be quick and responsive to almost any stimuli.

Mother knows that it is in her head and she is doing a lot of mind talk,
but behind all of the affirmative talk, a part of her says, "I wonder if it
will let down this time."

She has tried singing, playing her favorite music, Rescue Remedy, and
everything we could come up with. Do any of you have any suggestions? She
is a cheery, positive woman and is in love with her baby, but is really
stumped with this mind thing.

Have you encountered this? She will try anything.
