Hello everyone.

Gonneke, I had such a good chuckle at my lack of anatomical knowledge -
thanks for that correction. We do have a good discharge percentage of
breastfeeding and our town is very fortunate to have a very good clinic RN
that totally supports breastfeeding and give very good back-up. Hopefully
LLL will be starting one of these days - had an enquiry about being a
leader. We have just had a Dutch mom in and I gave her your website.

Pat, sorry but your email has come back to me - bad news - the 2 cases I
reported with B/F jaundice were lack of feeding! The 167 cases we had were
the highest ever recorded in our hospital. When I have time I will let you
know how many of those were C/sections - very high rate - in fact one day we
had 10!!

We have just had our first b/f symposium - had Nils Bergman from Cape
Town doing Kangaroo Mother Care - 55 people came and it was so informative
and our nurses left and went and put the babies onto the mothers breasts.

Sincerely,
Barbie Currie RN RM White River, Mpumalanga, South Africa.
