Has anyone seen the American Baby magazine for January 04?  Inside full cover
has an ad for preventing RSV by Ross Labs.  NO mention of breastfeeding.
Second and third page, a double ad for Similac Advance and the reasons to choose,
three out of four reasons--"like breast milk".  Fourth reason is greater bone
density than Enfamil lipil!  page 10 has an ad for a soft bottle--just like
the breast!  Page 14-15, double page ad for Good start--the only enriched lipid
formula with Comfort Proteins!  Page 16--beware of baby in bed--missing even
a single night of sleep impairs your immune system, proven by vaccinating a
group of volunteers with hepatitis A.  Page 25 has something good--prevention of
colds and flu #1 prevention BREASTFEEDING.  Beware though--Page 42 has an
article on "What Breastfeeding is Really Like"-- a miserable 18 hour a day job!
Page 31 has a l/4 page ad for Isomil advance (for growing minds)   Oh--double
ad on Page 40-41 for Enfamil (which nourishes the baby and your bond?????)
Page 51 has Brooke Shields (ad for Bright Beginnings).  Another article on "I'm
Desperate for My Baby to Sleep"on page 58.  Picture of baby in bed with
caption :Oops---wrong bed!  Did someone say WHO code?????  Should we begin with a
letter writing campaign to American Baby?  I received 11 copies through the
mail.  Now I am going to deal with my carnation evaporated milk/'karo syrup high
blood pressure!
