Nancy -

I was really interested to hear you say this. I am a mom of a now 20 month
old former 26 weeker. I went through all sorts of hassle when he was in the
NICU because he wasn't gaining weight fast enough for them. They finally
got me to agree to adding MCT oil to my milk and it really didn't make much
of a difference at all in his weight gain. When we finally did crematocrits
on multiple samples of my milk from different times of day, we found that
the fat content in my milk was much higher than the value they were using in
their calculations. Because I wouldn't let them add powdered formula to my
milk, they ended up adding protien powder and that was enough to turn things
around and get him out of there. The balance of the protein and fat was off
dramatically.

Of course, once we got him home and he could nurse when he wanted to eat, he
gained weight at a wonderful rate.

I just wish I could have had a neonatologist working with us that was as
knowledgeable about breastmilk as you are!

-Christine

As FASTER growth is not necessarily BETTER growth, and as protein is usually
the limiting nutrient for preterm infants, not fat, I would not buy stock in
this company.
