Tania, instead of talking about the disadvantages, etc. of formula feeding have you thought about discussing the long term consequences of tongue tie? I find that parents have no clue about: dental issues (because tongue doesn't have range of motion to clear out food, so can cause decay), possible speech issues since tongue can't do what it's supposed to, possible orthodontia down the road. I find that parents are somewhat more receptive when you tell them reasons why revising the tongue is not just related to breastfeeding.
