The formula for calculating an infants 24 hr. intake is wt. x 2.5. Could someone explain to me where the 2.5 comes from? I calculated intake for an infant using this and the nursery nurse used a different formula. She came up with a number too high in my opinion per day and per feed based on what we use. I felt unprepared to explain how I arrived at my figures which seemed more in line for what the baby needed. Thanks.
