I was asked by our organization's administrator if I knew of any resources that would be specific to the needs of a blind mother, who, unfortunately had weaned her breastfed baby when she could not find any support for her efforts in the postpartum period. :( She is now having difficulty with bottle feeding, because so much of the advice she has received is incredibly inappropriate, such as, "burp your baby after he has taken 2 ounces". Her question: "How can I possibly tell that if I can't see?"

I have worked with hearing-impaired moms in the past, but never a vision-impaired mom. So, I thought I would ask 2000+ of my closest lactation friends for their collective wisdom. Is there a source of good information for blind and/or vision-impaired mothers that she or I can access for her needs now? She is willing to consider breastfeeding her next child, but is not currently comfortable with relactation. I feel it is important to address her needs as she has articulated them, because she has been on the receiving end of some pretty dismissive and inappropriate advice. I just want to support her and "sow the seed" of breastfeeding for the next time. TIA
