Dear Lactnetters.
Wondered if any of you have ever worked with a mother who has undergone
complete removal of the thyroid for cancer. Mother is now taking thyroid
medication.  This is mother's first baby and is 41. What are the possible
implications for milk production ? I will be watching this baby carefully,
baby is now 2 days old and nursing beautifully. If anyone has information to
share I would love to hear it.

As an aside I do not find the discussion of religious Ezzoing offensive at
all, on the contrary I find it enlightening, it may help us all if we can
root out the problem of why some babies are failing and milk supplies are
plummeting. Sometimes parents do not want to own up to the practice. I did
not consider this 'bashing ' but education.
