I wasn't sure if it was OK to list the sponsors of the MOD walk in NYC
over Lactnet, so I clarified with Kathleen Bruce; she says its OK to
list them, so here goes:
NYC Parks and Recreation Dept., Modells, CIGNA ins.; Kelloggs, NY Daily
News, ABC, Toys R Us, Dime Savings Bank, Transmedia, El Diario (NYC Spanish Lang. newspaper), Continental Airlines, Time Warner.
Of course, I don't know "which" part of the campaign they have sponsored,
such as the subway ad or whatever expenses there could be for the walk.
It seems that MOD is a favorite cause, if you remember the origins of
the "March of Dimes" when we actually collected dimes to combat some disease, for some reason I think it was polio, unless that had its own
foundation back then....I don't know if they started out trying to stamp
out birth defects or not.
Which one of us in Lactnetland has the smarts/and or connections to
approach these corporations to support the TRUE best beginning for
babies?
Real bummer at work today: a mom left the hospital breastfeeding and her
pediatrician who she's friendly with gave her LOTS of "free" formula so
she could do both! With friends like that, who needs enemies???
