I have not gone to the article, but my first response is that the day
care worker who tried to comfort the little child (not her own) by
breastfeeding her probably meant very well. I would imagine the mother is
afraid of HIV or other infection being passed to baby.  I hope she
requests HIV testing for the daycare provider and baby , and if all the
tests come out clean, I hope she decides NOT to press charges. I do
believe the day care worker MEANT VERY WELL. In another era,  in another
place ( NOT  the USA in the year 2003), the baby's mother would be
swelling with gratitude for the kindness of this worker.
Just my .02 cents.
