Kate, are you saying that Dr. Sears (or one of his associates) no longer will
talk to parents at 2:00 in the morning, or after hours -- simply refers
people to the website? It sounds as though this is what you are saying.
Have you called the office after hours and is this the message you have
gotten, or did someone tell you that? I can't imagine there is any physician
who doesn't take call at night and only refers people to a website. I CAN
imagine that after hours there may be a reference to "and while you are
waiting for us to get back to you, which we will do as soon as possible, you
might want to take a look at the website which may answer some of your
questions....." That's a whole lot different than a message that implies or
says, "Take two Advil, call back in the morning and look at the website for
the answers." Perhaps your paragraph was just unfortunate phrasing, but it
is leaving the impression that Bill doesn't care for his patients -- just
leaves them to the internet. That can't be, because even in this day and
age, believe it or not, there are people that <gasp> don't have access to the
internet! Frankly, if I had a question at 3 ayem, and was waiting for a call
back, it would be comforting to read something instead of pacing the floor.

Let's not add anything else negative to the rhetoric that has already been
flying around. And as I pointed out in an post several days ago, the Sears'
are, or have been out of town, and most likely haven't even heard all this
flap yet, let alone had a chance to respond to the letters.
