No one ever harmed a child by meeting that child's needs. Many people have
harmed children by failing to see their needs, by failing to trust that
those needs were legitimate, and by failing to develop their own internal
authority to follow their heart's calling to meet those needs in spite of
disagreement from others. If a child needs reassurance, her developmental
needs will be met when provided with reassurance. If a child is hungry, her
nutritional needs will be met when provided with food.

Many breastfed little people 15 months and much older continue to regularly
or periodically wake at night to nurse.
