Just an addition to the discussion about vitamins.. "Breastfeeding Medicine"
the journal of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, has several articles
about maternal supplementation with high dose vitamin D as a way to improve
the vitamin D staus of both mom and baby.

Maternal vitamin D dosing seems like a very feasible and beneficial way to
improve vitamin D status. The first journal is available for free. The link to the
vitamin D artcile in that issue is
http://www.liebertonline.com/doi/abs/10.1089/bfm.2006.1.27

I have been recommending this dosing for moms in my practice.
