I have a client who recently had an uneventful homebirth (besides SROM for five
days) and just like her previous postpartum experience (IOL with pitocin), she
vomits each time she breastfeeds. Clearly, now at day three she is exceptionally
exhausted. Praise the Lord he is a fabulous nurser, but mom doesn't snuggle much
because she tries to limit his time at the breast.

I appreciate this is related to the oxytocin release with let-down, but besides
palliative treatment, are there other options? I had prescribed phenergan and
toradol (she has increased cramping as well), but mom isn't comfortable with
pharmaceuticals. I then suggested homeopathy (ipecac) and chasteberry. She is
using an over-the-counter progesterone cream as well.
