I wonder if there is any way to account for a child who won't accept
certain foods when offered? I'm thinking of the premise that
children often refuse to eat foods to which they might be sensitive
or allergic. The researchers' finding that delayed introduction of
egg and milk led to increased risk of allergy might be skewed by an
unaccounted-for self-protection instinct in susceptible children.

Did they define "introduced" as the food being offered, or as the
food actually being accepted and consumed (once or regularly)?

They do say that they took breastfeeding history into account when
correcting for confounders.
