<The mother of twins is 33 years old!>

Good grief! Unless there's more to this story than we're getting, this woman
shouldn't have to think twice about her "maternal age" diminishing supply!
Sorry, this is not research-based, but 33 isn't old, even in terms of
preg/bf. One *sure* way to diminish her supply and assure that it won't be
adequate, though, is to have BF-"supportive" docs telling her stuff like
that.

You know, I (as a mother of twins) have a real gripe about people who say
things like that. Really and truly, having twins is not that big a deal - I
mean, of course it IS a big deal, but when people get all worked up over
things like how "hard" everything will be, it doesn't do a lot of good, does
it? People have been saying that kind of stuff to me for the last 19 years
now - "Oh, you'll never have enough breastmilk to feed both of them" (I
could have fed an army with the amount I made for those beauties!), and then
"Oh my God, how will you ever toilet-train 2 at once" (I didn't - just
waited till they figured out what the toilet was for and then let them
convince me that they were big enough to use it), right up through "Oh,
you're gonna have a handful when they're teenagers - you must be dreading
those years!" (why on earth would they be so terrible? - I gave birth to
them, I raised them, I taught them and put my mark all over them, why would
they suddently turn into some kind of frightening monsters?) Well, don't
worry, they didn't! But no thanks to all the "oh-ain't-it-awful" crowd -
that kind of thing is terribly undermining.
