HEADS UP IBCLC Peeps. IBLCE has at long last issued its REVISED Scope of
Practice (SOP) and Clinical Competencies (CC) for IBCLCs.

If you did not receive your email with their newsletter today (12 Dec
2018), linking to the two new documents, you can access them on the IBLCE
website, here: https://iblce.org/resources/professional-standards/

These documents do not veer much from the drafts shared when IBLCE
announced their plan to review and revise these important practice-guiding
documents in January 2018. They did incorporate many but not all
suggestions offered by commenters [eyelashes now fluttering] like moi. My
analysis of the drafts was shared in my blog, here:
http://www.lizbrooksibclc.com/2018/01/29/my-comments-iblces-proposed-revisions-to-ibclc-scope-of-practice-and-clinical-competencies/

Many have asked about the IBLCE's proposed revisions to recertification
requirements (most tantalizingly: no test requirement at ten years). Those
new, final procedures and requirements have NOT yet been announced. The
SOP and CC are the real deal, in force today. (If you want my very
detailed analysis of suggested re-cert changes, see my blog on that at
http://www.lizbrooksibclc.com/2018/07/27/iblces-proposed-changes-to-recertification-and-statuses-act-quick/
