Mackesons and Guiness were (I'd go as far to say) prescribed treatments for
nursing moms when I worked as a student midwife in the UK. Wasn't that long
ago either. i trained in 1990 - 92. I seem to remember when the meal trolleys
arrived on the postnatal ward, the trays for the breastfeeders each had a
bottle of Mackesons on it!!

Gone are the days!!
