I haven't found exactly this, but I have found something close: that
mothers who cue-feed have a better idea of when their babies are sleepy
and hungry, and as a result their babies are more settled than babies
who are fed on schedule. There are lots of stories shared at LLL
meetings about babies who never cry at night, because their mothers roll
over and nurse them as soon as they wiggle, and lots of stories from
mothers who get just as much rest as if they had babies who were
sleeping through the night, although their babies are waking every
couple of hours around the clock. I find that cue-fed babies also fall
into more consistent patterns earlier... ironically, the ones who are
scheduled change their schedule frequently. As soon as a mother on the
phone says, "He *was* sleeping through the night..." I know what is
coming next.
