I visited the website that I believe was recommended by Valerie. Lots of
info. I asked for more information about infant formulas & promptly received
the following reply. I thought that you might be interested.

Ms. Laura Hart

Thank you very much for your question. Carnation Good Start formula is
not recommended for Muslims because it is not Halal (not permissible) and
also it is not kosher certified. But Carnation's Follow up Soya and Al
Soy are Halal (permissible) for Muslims. The following baby formula are
allowed for the Muslims:

1. Enfamil soya liquid or powder only
Low Iron, with Iron, Lactose free, Prosobean Soya formula, Next Step,
Soya

2. Similac
Infant formula w/iron, infant formula low iron, isomil soya formula
w/iron, Isomil DF, Powder Isomil, Neo Sure, Lactose free

3. Pedia Sure

4.Carnation
Follow Up Soya, Al Soy

The Following formula are not allowed

1. Nutramigen

2. Similac Alimentun

3. Carnation Good Start

4.Enfamil liquid/powder

Muslims accept kosher certified food products without alcohol in flavors,
without kosher gelatin and without L-Cystein from human hair.

This information is obtained from my book " A Comprehensive List of Halal
Food Products in US Supermarkets" and we also have a web site "
www.Muslimconsumergroup.com" update every week to include new food
products in supermarkets including baby foods.

If you have any question, please do not hesitate to e-mail me.
