yes, boy, i sure think slings are a real problem (i make them and give one to
each of my clients that will take it or doesn't already have one, yes i do).
i am so terribly worried about the use of slings causing body structural
problems that i encourage parents to only use them for about ten minutes per
day and have their baby spend the rest of their time lying in a crib alone in
their room with their little heads always turned the same way so that they
develop a nice flat bald spot where the head rests, as the baby lies sadly in
the crib looking anxiously at the door, wondering *if* mom will ever return.

and when they go out in public, i like them to take those nice plastic
buckets along to put the baby in, even when they are a year old. you know,
the baby AND the parent can get skeletal deformities and injuries from
carrying and being carried in the thing.
