Thanks Dawn for sharing this. I've been wanting to read more from Sandra
Steingraber for some time.

There is a critical error (may be only a typo) in the interview at the link you
provided. In her answer to the second question it says:

"Even if the benefits of breastfeeding still outweigh the risks of not
breastfeeding which they do'nt <sic> the contamination of breast milk
infringes on a child's right to safe food and security of person."

This same interview is on her website in a slightly expanded form.

www.steingraber.com (Look at the Q & A for her book Having Faith)

Quoting from her website:

"Even if the benefits of breastfeeding still outweigh the risks of not
breastfeeding -which they do- the contamination of breast milk.... " etc.

Totally different meaning! I don't *want* to be suspicious, but, well, hmmmm.
Can you contact the Quad-Cities Online to have this corrected?

The expanded interview on her website includes her description of combining
her career with motherhood and is well worth reading. I especially loved the
image she provides of breastfeeding while signing autographs!

I look forward to reading her books.
