Letter to editor and hospital:

Regarding: "4 women arrested in breast-feeding protest outside hospital"

The person or persons at Harrisburg Hospital that decided, or allowed, that
rightly concerned women and mothers be arrested, their babies taken from
their arms as they are led to jail, whoever that was should be fired as quickly
as possible. The right thing to do would have been for the hospital to send out
the hospital's patient advocate or customer service representative to speak
to the protestors, ...someone who knows how to say "please tell me about your
concerns, I'm listening and this is how I will follow-up....".

At the very least the hospital should be able to understand that the people
on the sidewalk protesting were their customers. Customers should be at least
satisfied. Customer service *excellence* is going beyond the customer's
expectation. Harrisburg Hospital failed to seize a golden opportunity to do that.

What a shame. Due to very poor administrative response to public concerns a
terrible image has been created for Harrisburg Hospital, an image seen and
felt throughout the nation. What a grand opportunity Harrisburg Hospital has
now to correct that terrible image and (unexpectedly) lead other
non-progressive hospitals to correct outdated and inappropriate perinatal policies or
routines.

Sincerely,

Deborah Tobin
