Hi all

Has anybody seen an article in a recent Readers' Digest (it might be either
April or May. My mom sent a copy without any date on it!) called "A Sister's
Helping Hand"? The article is about preterm twins who were originally placed in
separate incubators. The larger and stronger of the two was doing well, but the
other twin was having breathing and heart rate problems and seemed to be losing
ground. One day when the smaller twin was especially stressed, her nurse decided
in desperation to try something she'd read about and put the two girls together
in the same incubator. The larger twin snuggled up to the smaller and put her
arm around her--a picture is included. The smaller twin calmed immediately and
both are now home and thriving.

I guess this is a variation on the Kangaroo Care and the co-sleeping benefits.
Does anybody know any more about this idea? The article originally came from the
Worcester Telegram and Gazette and is by Nancy Sheehan. It is on pages 155-160
of whatever issue this Readers' Digest is.
