I'm so sorry about the way your birth experience turned out for you.  I agree
with other people who have encouraged you to write to the hospital about it.
As a CNM who has trained and worked in many hospital settings, I regret to say
that the scenario you described in not all that uncommon. With a midwife
attending the birth, you should be able to expect advocacy in the form of
protection from such institutional behavior.

My suggestion would be to write directly to the Director of Nurse-Midwifery
Services.  Your midwife deserves to hear how this affected you and your son so
she can learn and grow (hopefully).  All the women and babies she will care
for in the future deserve this too.
