Hi All,
I agree with Jack and his comments on this subject 100%.
My last baby (PJ) was a full 2 lbs bigger than both of his older brothers
were at birth. He weighed in at 9 lbs 6 oz. I didn't have GD, my milk came
in on day 3 (kinda late, I thought, since we were nursing 'round the clock!
:D ), and he is now, at 12 wks 15 lbs 3 oz. He gained 5 lbs 13 oz and
grown 5 in in this 12 wks. HE is a big chubby healthy baby boy! Well,
heck, according to some Docs, I guess, that since he was big, and tho he is
gaining just fine, we'd better supplement! GAG!! WHen will they get a
clue? And when will moms stop believing everything these people (who
normally have no education about BF) say and start asking for proof? We get
a 2nd opinion if we are told that we need an operation or treatment that
might be risky, why do people not see that giving ABM (or AIM, as I guess
it is now being called) when not needed is risky as well? WHen will the
public start demanding that medical practitioners who work with BF moms and
babies have appropriate BF education? And if they are seeing a Dr who does
not have this education, insist on being referred to someone who does?
Dream on, Jay, Dream on.......
