Hi Anne,
It was good to see your 2 posts about BF in Aust in the 1970s, and
about BF in Queensland, today. This is a huge public hospital that in my
study period (1945-65) had the proud boast that it never turned away a
patient. I acknowledge the fine efforts being made by staff members at the
RWH today, including in the NICU. It is certainly different today from the
1945-65 period, and the rapid expansion of the Milk Rooms in 1960-61. Steps
forward only happen because individuals put in the effort, again and again,
and it is good to give yourselves a pat on the back now and then, to mark
progress. All the best with getting the medical staff to undergo the BF
training.
This is an example of huge steps forward by a number of hospitals in
Queensland.
    Cheers,
          Virginia
