 A couple thoughts here. You might want to consider having the mothers get their milk cultured to see what you're dealing with. Changing the oils in their diet might help too (to olive oil etc). Have the moms tried over the counter pain relievers and moist heat to ease the discomfort? I remember experiencing pretty painful discomfort about a half an hour after nursing my youngest one. Someone suggested then that maybe the duct was just a little more relaxed, and it just sort of relaxed on itself. It would be uncomfortable as the milk came rushing back in as well. I don't really know if that's what it was, but it felt exactly as it was described to me. Some moms find that pumping for a bit makes it feel better too. Please let us know how it turns out.
