As far as I know the Nipplette was invented by a UK surgeon as a way to
´´repair´´ inverted nipples without having to ´´cut into healthy tissue´´. He was
(is) a cosmetic surgeon. I think for this use it is a fine instrument.
In Netherlands it is well-available at any drugstore for about (I think)
around 50 euro's (1 E is appr. $1.30)
It looks like a small finger-cup (I mean the device that is used in needle
work to protect the fingertips), about the size of a medium ''normal'' nipple,
attached to a vacuum-pulling part. The user places the cap over the place
where the nipple is supposed to be, pulls vacuum and detaches the vacuum puller,
leaving the cap vacuum on the breast. The idea is to use it for up to a
couple of times a couple of hours daily. The vacuum is pretty strong and not
adjustable. Some LCs around here have double feelings about using it on
lactating or pregnant women. Some fear for increased oxytocine activity and possibly
premature labour when used in the last trimester. Some fear for tissue
damage, due to the inadjustable heavy vacuum. Besides that it makes (or promises to
make) a ''perfect'' nipple, and by doing so is putting the idea around that
there is such a thing as a perfect nipple and that that is something to
strive for. It mixes up ''estetically perfect'' and ''biologically functional''.

Warmly,
