In a message dated 97-04-24 01:37:15 EDT, you write:

<< A pedi I work with said that BF is contraindicated in Active TB. She is
getting her Masters in public health at Harvard. Lawerence(1989 ed) says
that it is safe after a week of treatment. Anyone know if this
 recommendation has changed? Thanks, Jane

Dear Jane, You need to check in the 94 Lawrence or the new BAB. My
understanding is that depending on whether mother is in active TB and being
treated or if she's just reacted due to exposure and being treated. The crux
is which meds are being used, I don't think it has to do with waiting a
week.... Please check the newer references, I don't have them at home, but I
just completed and infection control guideline for our hospital and remember
vaguely... Liz
