I had a call from the floor this afternoon as I was preparing to go home from
the hospital. A mom who delivered baby #3 on Mon via C-sec wanted to know if
it was OK to try bfing one time so she could see what it was like. Away I
flew upstairs to help. Mom had fed ABM to her  other two children and this
baby has had ABM for 2 days. In the room was 6 friends, 2 of which had "tried
" to BF but couldn't due to "pain". I jokingly told them they weren't allowed
to discuss bad experiences-only positive friends were allowed. I talked with
Mom and friends for a bit, put the baby in her arms and the baby jumped on
and latched like she had done it her whole life! She nursed enthusiastically
for 30 min. This gave me time to do a mini class for mom and friends. Baby
flinished with a big belch and fell asleep cuddled in Mom's arms.  Mom said
if she'd known it was this easy, she'd nursed her other 2 children. Her
friends were majorly impressed with a little envy. I'm keeping my fingers
crossed she continues.
