Kirsten and everyone,
My first inclination: use principles of the sympto-thermal method to try and
get an idea of whether cyclical changes are occurring, esp. ovulation. If
so, use the same signs to indicate when pre-ovulatory fertility is at its
peak and seize the time! If not, consider hormone assays, under guidance of
the appropriate health care provider.
Some mothers are so 'loyal' to a nursling that a new pregnancy seemingly
will not occur while they are BF. If further investigation suggests this is
the case, explore with the family the implications of this and go from
there.
