Not to try to throw a wrench into your day, but personally I would not go.
What does a lactation consultant need to know about the new formulas? I do
read whatever I can about artificial feeding but I prefer to get my info
from non-biased sources, if possible. A formula marketing presentation would
not be an appropriate place. I agree with Marsha Walker's analysis about
having a bf-friendly person as a speaker. In the future, the formula
salespeople can now say "we had Dr. Meek speak about our formulas and the
LCs attended" etc etc. When Ross came around with their bf materials a few
years ago, some LCs decided to use the materials saying they were actually
very good, nice binders, slides, etc. I refused to use it. This year, a
nursery nurse found some of the materials, a large flip chart etc. I threw
it away.
