I have been working with a mom for the past week and a half who has a
three month old.  It sounds like she has just never had a good milk
supply.  She has been on Synthroid for the past 5 years and had not had
any lab done since she was pregnant.  After reading about the effects of
hypothyroid, I suggested she get that checked.  She just called to say
that the doctor's office said she was taking too much Synthroid (.1 mg)
and cut it back to .05 mg.  They are going to check again in a month.
I am wondering if anyone can tell me what effect this scenario would
have on lactation.

I also suggested Reglan for this same mother.  Her doctor did prescribe
100 tabs of the generic form.  It was only $6.  Is the generic just as
effective?
