Some of you may remember my posting about a mother of twins some time back.
This same mom is returning to work full time as a teacher next week and is
worrying about pumping enough for her babies during the day. The babies are
now 4 mos old, and still nearly exclusively breastfed (mom has occasionaly
supplemented with formula if she needed to be away from the babies.) Their
weight gain has been great -- both have gained 9 lbs since birth and are now
13lbs 4 oz and 15 lbs. Mom is especially worried as she has only a few
ounces of milk in the freezer and can't figure out how to get ahead of them.
Most of the tricks I suggest to other moms (like tandem pumping at home)
don't work well for a MOT. One baby is sleeping through the night usually,
the other wakes twice usually, so mom thought she could add a pumping
session before she goes to bed. She is not at all interested in losing any
more sleep, though, so probably won't pump during the night. She will pump
at school twice during the day with a PIS double pump.
Any suggestions for her on keeping up with these babies?
