I am doing research on the impact of BF peer counselors. I can find all kinds
of information about the efficacy of these programs, but I am having trouble
finding anything about the history and evolution of these programs. I have
googled and searched Pubmed.

Were these programs originally based on the mother-to-mother support model of
LLLI?
Which came first the WIC peer counselor program or LLLI peer counselor
program?
What about the WHO/UNICEF programs? Did they come later? What's the timeline
for all this?
What were the resources used to design the WHO/UNICEF BF counselor training
materials? Also for WIC?

Any information about this would be greatly appreciated. Especially any
primary references that discuss this.

Please email me offlist if you can help at: [log in to unmask]

Thanks,
