Kim Block wrote about Wyeth getting out of the domestic formula market a
couple of years back (and now reappearing as a maker of store brands).
Actually, Wyeth has long been a very big seller outside the US market, so it
wasn't that they decided to go elsewhere---they already WERE elsewhere. You
are probably aware that AHP--American Home Products---is a co-target of the
current global boycott along with Nestle for non-compliance with the WHO Code.

I have used company names because it's easier to read and I'm just reporting
facts, not opinions. I hope this follows the rules.

I do believe that knowing what formula companies do is a fit topic for
Lactnet. It's not a clinical topic, but since marketing affects the choices
women make, we need to be aware of it. As Linda Smith has said, if we want to
increase breastfeeding, we need to decrease bottle feeding. There are only so
many babies, and they can only eat so much!
