Ilene,
In your Aug. 11 message you asked: "Anyone know if this "non
staining of BM" is substantiated in the literature anywhere or if it's
just an observation of some mothers?"
Cannot say if it never stains or if any lit. substantiates it.
However, I do know I had to throw away a lot of outfits that did become
stained. She was exclusively breast fed. I just know the stains were
there after laundering. Now maybe it was my laundering habits. I didn't
keep everything soaking in cold water or spray them with any commercial
"Don't You dare Stain My Clothes" pre treatments. Washed everything in
hot soapy water and hung them out in the sun. Now it could have been the
birds that caused the stains but I'll put my nickel on my little 'juice
box' baby (37 yrs. ago).
