As I mentioned she was supplemented during the consult and continues to
be-she has been gaining 2.5oz/day over the last 5 days.
The baby was weighed naked. The baby WAS desparate and it is clear the baby
was malnourished and dehydrated but my question is how dangerous was this
situation? If I'm being asked to override the pedi then I need some firmer
parameters eg. is an alert, capable baby enough of a marker of clinical stability
or does a degree of wt.loss (?) signal the need for a blood draw
regardless?? Any more ideas?
