Being TUSB (trapped under sleeping baby) in front of my computer at
the moment, I did a Google search for this medication. It came up
with 7 hits, none in languages I can read. However, I did gather
that Duphaston (no "e" on the end) is a trade name and
dydrogesteronum is a generic name. It does appear to be a
hormone-type medication. Go to
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Duphaston+dydrogesteronum
to see the Google hits.

Ibolya, could you look at some of these websites and figure out what
is in this dydrogesteronum? If its component(s) can be translated
into English then I think we'll be better able to figure out if it
poses a risk for breastfeeding.

If it is simply a form of progesterone, then this is easy --
progesterone is approved by the AAP for use in breastfeeding mothers.
There is a full profile of it in Hale's Medications and Mothers' Milk.

Warmly,
Margaret
