Katherine mentioned Krispin Sullivan and her research on vitamn D. Krispin
Sullivan is also listed as the owner of Middle Marin Laboratories---food
manufacturer of supplements. She may be a strong believer in Vitamin D supplements
because of her research ( I could not find a listing of her research papers).
But I do have to question which comes first--her company or her research???

Vitamin D appears to be a cure-all for everything you might name. Again this
seems like reductionist thinking, similiar to patenting human milk
components. Can health be obtained by just one synthetic product? Isn't health,
nutrition much more complex than ingesting one element, one supplement.
Breastfeeding is a good example of wholism, of the synergy of elements--not just the
milk but the whole process. Vitamin D supplementation is reductionist in
thought. Can we replace nature's design by simulating the actions of sunlight with a
pill? I think if we think on it, we know that we can't. Life, health is not
that simplistic.........
