The statue was created by Edwards in honor of World Breastfeeding Week.  

According to Sandy Wilson of Phantom-Financial, the organization who  
funded the work, "the statue sends a beautiful message by promoting the  
acceptance of public breastfeeding. Mothers should be encouraged to nurture  their 
babies anywhere."
