I watched one of the "factually correct" formula company breastfeeding
videos, and had to acknowledge its correctness. It took me a while to
figure out what was missing: *enthusiasm*.

It's called damning with faint praise. Basically, the video gave
information on how to tolerate bfing for the length of time drs say it
should be tolerated, and how to deal with common unpleasantnesses. Nothing
about how once the kinks are ironed out you're going to enjoy one of the
best relationships of your whole life, nothing about the joys of nursing an
older baby, nothing about the warmth of it, or the goofiness, or the
blissful ease, or anything at all that would make a mother say "*YESSS* I
*want* this for myself!"

Factual? I suppose. But nothing I would show to convince a mother to nurse
her baby for more than a couple weeks. Madison Avenue never does anything
without a reason. Why do we persist in thinking we can outwit them?
